In conjunction with the 2010 Popcorn Festival, Manito was fortunate to play host to the American Veterans Traveling Tribute; "The Wall". The three day event included a candlelight vigil, a 9-11 memorial, and an up-to-date "dog tags" memorial for those lost in our current struggles abroad. A host of dignitary speakers included Col. Fred W. Allen - Illinois Army National Guard Chief of Staff in Springfield IL; Colonel William P. Robertson - 182d Airlift Wing Commander; Gerald Stallings - a Vietnam War prisoner; Norman L. Lacer - 2nd Battalion, 94th Artillery, Battery “B” Vietnam Vet; and Phil Frederick - Korean War vet

Webmaster Shawn Prather and Manito photographer Deanna Brust video taped and photographed the whole affair. Subsequently they offered a DVD of the event for sale. Hours of video was shot as well as 587 photos taken. For the first time, the photos can now be viewed here:
